The difference between oil press/hot press and cold press
Hot pressing and cold pressing both refer to the process used for oil extraction. Hot pressing refers to the need to raise the temperature during the oil pressing process, while cold pressing refers to maintaining a lower temperature during the oil pressing process.
Technical differences between hot pressed oil and cold pressed oil
- Equipment structure: The cold oil press does not have a heating device, while the hot oil press is equipped with a heating device.
- Raw material processing: The hot press oil machine is suitable for pressing raw materials that have been stir fried by a frying machine, while the cold press oil machine is suitable for pressing raw materials that have been steamed and boiled. In addition, although cold press oil machines sometimes use oil frying, their main purpose is to evaporate water and heat oil, and the frying time and strictness are not as good as hot press oil machines.
Model | Power allocation (kW) | Processing capacity | External dimensions (mm) |
FD-60 | 2.2 | 30-60kg/H | 1200*480*1100 |
FD-70 | 3 | 40-70kg/H | 1400*500*1200 |
FD-80 | 5.5 | 80-150kg/H | 1650*1100*1700 |
The advantages of hot pressing technology and oil press machines
Compared to cold oil presses, hot oil presses have the following advantages
1: The production capacity is high. Taking the same 100 model as an example, the new hot press oil machine has a production capacity of 250 to 300 kilograms per hour (rapeseed, peanuts, sesame), while the old cold press oil machine has a production capacity of about 200 kilograms per hour. Therefore, the output of the new hot press oil machine is more than 20% higher than that of the old cold press oil machine.
2: The oil yield is high, and the new hot press oil machine has an oil yield 2 to 4% higher than the old cold press oil machine. This is mainly because the residual oil rate of the Youbing (Deep-fried round and flat dough-cake) of the new hot press is 7 to 9%, while the residual oil rate of the Youbing (Deep-fried round and flat dough-cake) of the old oil cooler is 10 to 12%.
3: Energy saving and power-saving, the hot oil press adopts energy-saving low-speed motors.
4: Process optimization, the new hot press oil machine adopts three-stage pressing, which can be squeezed clean in one go; However, the old style cold press oil machine requires 2 to 4 times to press it clean (although the old style cold press oil machine is also a three-stage press, it requires more than 2 times)
5: To save manpower, the new hot press oil machine only requires 1 to 2 people to operate production, while the old cold press oil machine requires 3 to 5 people (approximately 1 person to process raw materials, 1 person to operate equipment, and 1 person to pound cake residue for re pressing).
6: The oil quality is better, and the new hot press oil machine evaporates the water in the oil at high temperature, making the water content in the oil less than 2%; The water content of the oil squeezed by the old-fashioned cold press is between 5% and 7%. In addition, the new hot press oil machine can also volatilize harmful substances such as sulfite after being subjected to high temperature.
7: Oil products are more durable for storage. The oil products squeezed by new hot press machines can be stored for more than 1 year, while the oil products squeezed by old cold press machines can usually only be stored for 3 to 5 months
How to choose an oil press
When choosing an oil press, the first step is to clarify your usage needs. Is it used for daily oil extraction in households or for commercial large-scale production? Different usage scenarios have different requirements for the performance and functionality of oil presses.
Secondly, the efficiency of oil extraction is an important factor to consider when making a purchase. An efficient oil press can extract more oil in a short period of time, improving production efficiency while reducing energy consumption. You can evaluate the oil efficiency of the product by viewing its power, speed, and other parameters.
The quality of oil and fat cannot be ignored. A high-quality oil press can retain the natural nutrients in the oil, such as unsaturated fatty acids, vitamin E, etc., while avoiding the production of harmful substances, ensuring the health and safety of edible oil.
